It is with great pleasure that I write this letter recommending Warinda Bongkotmart as a Early Learning Program Director. Presently, Warinda works as a certified Montessori teacher of the 3 yrs to 6 yrs age level of young children at the University of Washington Children’s Center at Portage Bay (UWCCPB). She has been a significant player in the setting up of 2 preschool classrooms, training and leading staff and was quickly identified as a leader among her peers and seen as such by the management team. Over the past two years of her employment she has also immerged as a skilled facilitator of conflict resolution for the teaching team as well as the children. Warinda is an exceptional teacher and leader that will apply her considerable gifts and knowledge to her directorship. 

Warinda’s time at UWCCPB has been both exemplary and notable. The experience and environment she creates for children, families and colleagues is safe, exciting, diverse, challenging and at the same time supportive and nurturing. She plans activities, lessons and interactions for a multi-age classroom. Her approach is holistic, addressing the emotional, cognitive and physical needs of the children in a manner that is detailed and flexible, as well as inclusive of the parents and her teaching colleagues. 

Warinda is sensitive to the complex diversity of the teachers and families in the UWCCPB program. Children, families and colleagues are consistently recognized and respected in her presence. She is always learning, insatiably curious and she demonstrates an infinite capacity to be self-reflexive. She embodies grace under pressure, a respect for everyone, a discriminating and extraordinary intellect, and awe-inspiring compassion. 

Warinda works to understand rather than to be understood. This is a characteristic that would serve every school leader. She is brilliant, reliable, responsible, and demonstrates poise and maturity in everything she does. She is a consummate professional and potent manager, guide and caregiver. 

Based upon my experience working with Warinda, I wholeheartedly recommend her as the perfect candidate for a directorship. I have been a Montessori teacher for nearly a decade. For the last year, I  worked alongside Warinda Bongkotmart as she taught  at Portage Bay School, Preschool 4. She is a consummate Montessori teacher, student centered, professional and caring. Her organization and communication skills are excellent. 

Warinda is very comfortable with children and their families. I have witnessed her relationship skills extend far beyond the classroom. Students love her, parents appreciate her and her staff feel supported by her.
