Our new year started with lots of snow over the Winter break. So we brought snow into the classroom for more fun.

In our science experiment we learnt a lot about waiting. We tried making crystal snowflake, apparently it took us 2 months to really see the full result. I really admire children's patience in waiting.

We also did snow storm in a jar. Children were excited for the results.
Chinese New Year was introduced to many children as it's their first time receiving their red envelope, eating almond cookie, making lanterns and blessing one another. Learning about another culture is part of understanding about the world around us.
Children were learning, even though they were repeating the same work but this is part of Montessori practice about repetition. Children will learn to master the work as they tried again and again. This will bring them joy in learning.
All in all, it has been a cold January but children have made my heart warm everyday.
